![]() They need to arrange priority for hotel guests with their restaurant. Of course they did but a hotel guest, especially with breakfast included in the Amex FHR rate, doesn't want to know that the restaurant is fully committed for breakfast and will try to get me a table for one person. At check-in I was told they would try to get me a table. I knew enough to book dinner at the Electric Lemon restaurant but I didn't think I'd need to make a breakfast reservation. Even at the bedside there is no place to put anything in a drawer. They could easily fix this by putting some shelves in that closet or to the side of the bedroom TV which is dead space and could use a door and some shelves. There is a closet opposite the bathroom but there are no shelves there. So the closet is really in the living room. To use all the space in the bedroom for floor to ceiling windows, there is zero place anywhere in the bedroom to put any of one's belongings out of sight. The suite was nice (certainly liked the cherry-chocolate cupcake on arrival) and decorated well, but there were definitely some things it could have used, such as a bar of soap, a plastic bottle of water to take to the gym or outside, and I woke up with nightmares from the thick duvets they use instead of sheets and blankets. I stayed here one night in a top level suite overlooking the Shard. I would rate it Very Good but not Excellent. I don't think this property rates 5.0 and I think there are a good number of fluff reviews here for this property, especially since there are so many other properties out there that are excellent that get lower TripAdvisor scores. Tip - if you're looking to check out "the edge" located in hudson yards, if you have a wells fargo account, go to their website for a significant discount for tickets. Metro line is steps away, but location is such that if you don't mind walking its an easy walk to Times Square or Chelsea. The food at this hotel, be it room service or Electric Lemon are all towards a healthy concept. But pretty efficient in that you can use the tablet in room to preorder and set the time of delivery. Breakfast is available by room service only (or perhaps this is b/c of covid). ![]() Even with rollaway our suite was more than roomy and still had a separate sitting area with a sectional couch. The rooms are very sleek and as we had our teen son with us, we opted for a suite and requested a rollway bed (which is available for $100 per day). ![]() My teen son and I also tried the "cryotherapy" which was cool but for most part, it's probably a gimmick and for the hefty $60+ for 3 minutes inside a freezer, it's a one and done experience for us. ![]() Otherwise, spa is only open limited hours so highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We also utilized the spa and took advantage of a last minute cancellation. You can also take any of their many fitness classes by reserving a spot thru the concierge, which we did. If you're not familiar with Equinox, it is one of NYC's chicest and largest gyms. Staying at this hotel give you access to Equinox gym (which is accessible from the hotel elevator banks). Electric Lemon, the hotel's restaurant is a central spot for pictures and when we dined there, it seemed to be full of "influencer" types all vying for a picture in front of the massive head structure. Hotel is located right across from Hudson Yards which boasts numerous retailers and dining (both casual and sit down). You do have to take an elevator to 25th floor for checkin and switch to different set to access rooms, but really wasn't a big deal. We have stayed at various places during our NYC visits including Mandarin, Plaza, Four Seasons, but decided to try this out as the appeal of a "fitness & health" inspired hotel plus wanted to be in the Hudson Yard area. ![]()
